If you are nervous, please let us know as we can help you and we will go that extra mile to make sure you receive dental treatment at a pace you feel comfortable with. We are also able to offer dental sedation to help make treatments more pleasant. Options include Nitrous oxide (happy gas), Penthrox & Conscious Sedation.

What Is Nitrous Oxide?

Nitrous oxide is also known as laughing gas or happy gas and is a treatment that many people will already be familiar with. With this treatment, the gas is simply inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose. It takes effect very quickly, bringing with it a sense of deep relaxation. During this procedure you will still be fully aware but should feel very comfortable. Once the gas is turned off at the end of treatment, it is quickly eliminated from the body so you can drive home.

What is Penthrox?

Penthrox is self-administered through being inhaled. It helps provides anxiety and pain relief during your treatment so you should feel relaxed. It takes effect after 6 to 10 breaths and you will be in control of how frequently you inhale this sedative. As with Nitrous oxide, Penthrox is soon eliminated from the body, so you will be able to drive drive home and can generally continue with everyday life.

What is Conscious Sedation?

IV Sedation is also known as Conscious Sedation. It makes you less aware of what is going on around you during dental treatment.
It is very helpful for anxious patients who would like to get their impacted/wisdom teeth removed in the dental chair.
