Check-Up2017-02-02T04:37:48+00:00
We generally advise parents to bring their child to see us every six months for a check-up and clean, although this schedule can vary according to a child’s specific needs. We are extremely gentle with our younger patients and will take time to reassure them and to ensure they feel completely comfortable and relaxed before the examination begins

What Will Happen during My Child’s Check-up?

During their check-up, our dentist will examine their teeth and gums to make sure they are developing correctly and to check for any signs of problems. Regular check-ups allow us to closely monitor their dental health for any small signs of changes. We will also professionally clean your child’s teeth, as this is a great treatment for maintaining healthy teeth and gums. A professional cleaning removes hardened plaque, a substance called calculus, reducing the risk of gum disease and tooth decay. Your child will also be provided with a fully customised preventative dental care plan.

What Is a Preventative Dental Care Plan?

A preventative dental care plan is very important for maintaining good oral health and is based on a child’s risk of developing dental problems. Their customised plan will detail the recommended frequency of dental check-ups and cleanings. We may suggest other preventative dental care treatments to help improve or maintain their dental health such as fluoride treatment and fissure sealants. Our dentist will discuss this plan with you and will explain how it will help your child.

We are very friendly and approachable and are always more than willing to answer any questions you might have about your child’s dental health.
